Dominic Harbinson has almost 20 years’ experience of using herbal medicine to treat a wide range of conditions. Traditional herbal prescriptions consist of a number of specifically selected herbs combined in a harmonious and synergistic way to address the condition you are seeking treatment for. As a result of his extensive studies and clinical training, Dominic specialises in the use of herbal formulas derived from classical Chinese medicine texts and thus rooted in 2,000 years of safe and effective clinical application.

As a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM), Dominic has full professional insurance and he goes to great lengths to access the best quality herbs for the in-house herbal pharmacy, The Canterbury Apothecary .

Traditional herbal medicine is effective for many conditions including immune issues, menstrual or fertility issues, headaches, respiratory or urinary infections, insomnia and other complex conditions which have not found relief with conventional medicine.

Over the years Dominic has developed particular experience and interest in the following fields: respiratory problems, menstrual and menopausal disturbances, infertility, digestive complaints, recurrent UTIs, headaches/migraines, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, autoimmune diseases and dermatology. More recently, he has been getting excellent results with conditions arising from, or exacerbated by, the Covid pandemic, including ‘long-Covid.’

How it Works

At your initial herbal consultation, Dominic will aim to get a full picture of the condition(s) you are seeking treatment for, and of your overall health and medical history. He will take your pulse on both wrists and may also ask to see your tongue or to palpate your abdomen briefly. He will then prescribe a herbal formula which is personalised to your particular situation, taking into account any medication you may be on.

In follow-up consultations scheduled 2-4 weeks later, Dominic will review progress to date, track any changes in your symptoms and general health, before prescribing an appropriate follow-up formula.
