Qigong Classes
Qigong is the practice of cultivating one’s vital energy or Qi. It was developed in the Far East thousands of years ago and is an essential part of East Asian medicine. It involves the use of specific movements and techniques to optimise energy balance and flow, thereby improving vitality and health.
We teach one-to-one and group Qigong classes which include a balance of both physically active and more meditative techniques. The Qigong we teach follows the Hua Gong method developed by Master Zhixing Wang which focuses on activating and cultivating one’s Qi for greater well-being, self-healing and personal / spiritual development.
We are both committed and dedicated practitioners of Hua Gong and have been following this method through ongoing daily practice, weekend workshops and intensive retreats with Zhixing for nearly 30 years. The techniques and exercises we teach can be practised on a daily basis by people of all ages and levels of fitness.
Moving Meditation
How it Works
Group classes take place on Monday morning and Friday evening on the Zoom platform, so you can practise wherever you are in the world.
If you are new to Qigong, it’s advisable to have one or two introductory one-to-one sessions before joining a group class. These sessions can take place in-person at Concorde House Clinic or online.
These gentle and closely-guided introductory sessions will enable you to begin to experience the “Qi” (life energy) and will introduce you to techniques we will be using in the group classes. You can then practise at home in your own time to develop and refine this “Qi connection.”
In addition to Qigong’s benefits in maintaining optimal health and well-being, research has shown that it can help with issues such as balance, sleep, respiratory function and blood pressure.
