Community Acupuncture

What is a Multi-Bed Clinic?

The multi-bed system is used in hospitals and clinics throughout China and was pioneered in the UK at the NHS Gateway Clinic in London in the 1990s. It enables several people to receive acupuncture treatment in the same room at the same time. This means that:

a) treatment can be given at a lower cost than 1-to-1 private sessions

b) acupuncture becomes accessible to more people in the local community;

c) when many people are treated together, a powerful healing ‘energy field’ or ‘atmosphere’ is generated. This also happens when many people pray or meditate or practise yoga or martial arts together. You probably have to experience this to know what we mean, so do come along and try it out!

All consultations and treatments are conducted with sensitivity and respect for people’s needs for privacy. Depending on the treatment required, you will be treated lying on a couch or sitting on a chair. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Where necessary, screens and blankets are provided.

Community Acupuncture Clinic Times:

Mondays 2 - 6.30pm

Thursdays 9 -1.30pm

Please pay us whatever you feel comfortable with on our sliding scale of £20 - £30, keeping in mind that you may need a series of treatments. If you are unsure as to what amount to pay, we suggest the halfway option, £25. If the cost of treatment is an issue, please let us know. We want you to come in for acupuncture frequently enough to really feel better.

We also offer Ear Acupuncture at £5 per session.
