Canterbury Community Acupuncture Clinic - NHS Referrals Accepted

In September 2013, Canterbury Acupuncture launched East Kent’s first Community Acupuncture clinic at Concorde House Clinic, Canterbury, CT1 2NZ. The Community Acupuncture Clinic is a multi-bed system which is used in hospitals and clinics throughout China and which was pioneered in the UK at the NHS Gateway Clinic in London in the 1990s. It enables several people to receive acupuncture treatment in the same room at the same time. This means that:

a) treatment can be given at a lower cost than 1-to-1 private sessions

b) acupuncture becomes accessible to more people in the local community;

c) when many people are treated together, a powerful healing ‘energy field’ or ‘atmosphere’ is generated. This also happens when many people pray or meditate or practise yoga or martial arts together. You probably have to experience this to know what we mean, so do come along and try it out!

All consultations and treatments are conducted with sensitivity and respect for people’s needs for privacy. Depending on the treatment required, you will be treated lying on a couch or sitting on a chair. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Canterbury Community Acupuncture Clinic Times

Mondays 2 - 6:30pm

Thursdays 8am -1:30pm

Drop-in appointments may be available but as the Clinic is usually busy, pre-booking is definitely advised - please call Concorde House Clinic on 01227 788 868, or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for appointments. Allow up to 1 hour for a treatment.

Community Acupuncture Clinic Fees
Please pay us whatever you feel comfortable with on our sliding scale of £20 - £30, keeping in mind that you may need a series of treatments. Most people pay £30 for the first session and £25 per session thereafter. If the cost of treatment is an issue, please let us know. We want you to come in for acupuncture frequently enough to really feel better.

We also offer Ear Acupuncture at £5 per session during the Community Acupuncture Clinics.

NHS Referrals

In partnership with the GP Surgeries at Saddleton Road and Seasalter, Whitstable, Canterbury Acupuncture is delighted to offer a referral service enabling patients from other GP practices in East Kent to have immediate access to professional acupuncture treatment. Patients with a musculoskeletal condition can, with a referral from their GP, receive a free course of acupuncture (6 sessions) in the Community Acupuncture Clinic under the AQP Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy Service. Please contact us for more information on how to access this service.
